The Creative Freedom of Philippe Starck Interiors

Those familiar with fine design know Philippe Starck interiors when they see them. Throughout the years, Starck had left his mark on many upscale establishments throughout the years including hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, museums and many other commercial establishments. He has also created some very innovative prototypes for furniture, vehicles and accessories that bear his distinctive style. Still, his interiors are sure to make a lasting impression with everyone. Part of Starck’s secret is his ability to draw inspiration from the spirit and style of the geographic location in which he is working.

For instance, in his native Paris, France, Le Meurice called upon Starck to restore the hotel building to the prominence for which it was known with its riches and beauty. The hotel has had ties throughout the years with many famous artists, so it is with this history in mind Starck restored the hotel, emphasizing creativity and living itself as a form of art. However, with the Palazzina Grassi in Venice, Italy, Starck choose to emphasize the ancient culture of Italy and focus on dream, poetry, romanticism and tradition.

There are other examples of more modern Philippe Starck interiors located throughout the world as well. Much of the work Starck has done with bars and other social outlets can be found right in Paris. The Cafe La Cigale opened in 2010 and boasts a modern design both conducive to relaxing and enjoying a quiet afternoon as well as watching the city move by through the window. The elegant decor is surrounded by a causal view of modern art with chalk drawings suggesting change all around.

There are also designs for the home that can give it a modern touch. Many of the bathroom designs not only add a stylish and sleek touch but also create efficiency. For instance, the Starck Shower is not only an example of his creative design but also provides five functions: lighting, shelving, shower, speaker modules and thermostat. Although beautiful, the minimalist design will never detract from enjoying the shower experience and actually enhances the peace and tranquility from the water. The shower can be used in conjunction with other elements including the Starck 1, 2, 3 storage cabinets.

No matter their purpose, Philippe Starck interiors, furniture, accessories and other designs are always examples of creative freedom. Those who cannot travel to one of the many cities including Paris, Moscow, Madrid, Beverly Hills and Beijing to see his work with commercial properties can still find his signature style on the many pieces of furniture, jewelry and other things he has created over the years. Philippe Starck remains one of the premier names in design and so far shows no signs of slowing down.
